Playground Inspection Services

Playinspect has inspected thousands of playgrounds over the past 17 years. There are very few items we have not encountered in that time which provides invaluable knowledge in the likely problems to look for in playgrounds.

Every brand and type of equipment have their own unique issues which we have become familiar with after many inspections. Our inspections services are comprehensive and reliable. Playinspect is led by Russell and Samantha Neumann, who are duly trained and UTS certified for comprehensive playground audits.

Every aspect of your grounds is inspected and assessed. We find problem areas and potential risk factors before they result into real problems and unnecessary accidents. Checklists are used to systematically identify any non compliant issues within the playground. These items are provided a hazard rating based on a thorough risk assessment to allow the owner to prioritise repairs from high to low risk.

All inspections come with a full report with colour photos identifying each hazard. They are given a hazard rating to prioritise the urgency required to repair any issues. All items are entered into the system and can be used as an inventory to track all of your assets and their expected life span. We base our reports on the clauses within the standard and not opinions, all non-compliant items found refer to the clause in the Australian Standards that they do not comply with.

TYPES OF INSPECTIONS WE PROVIDE:
  • Post Installation/Incident Inspections: This inspection shall verify that the playground as constructed conforms with the requirements of the relevant parts of AS 4685 Playground series and the impact attenuating surface testing as detailed in AS 4422 Playground surfacing. This should be done prior to new playgrounds being opened to the public.
  • Comprehensive Annual Inspections: This inspection is intended to determine conformance with the relevant parts of AS 4685 and to establish the overall level of safety of the equipment, foundations and playground surfaces.
  • Operational inspections: This inspection is usually carried out every 1-3months depending on the use of the playground to check for any missing parts, inadequate undersurfacing, excessive wear on moving parts, loose or missing bolts, protrusions or sharp edges, corrosion, frayed ropes and as the name suggests any items that affect the normal safe operation of the playground.
